Parents receive written reports detailing student achievement twice a year – at the end of Semester 1 (end of Term 2) and the end of Semester 2 (end of Term 4). These reports indicate student achievement against the AusVELS domains as they are taught. They also give further details about specific achievements, areas for future learning, what the school will do to assist the student and some ways parents can assist their child in their learning at home. Portfolios are another means of communicating student achievements. These folders showcase samples of students' work and are sent home each month.
Meetings between parents and teachers take place twice a year. Meetings early in the school year are designed so teachers can come to better know a child, and begin to form a meaningful relationship with parents. Meetings mid-year enable parents and teachers to talk through successes, challenges and issues arising from the Semester 1 report. Teachers also welcome opportunities to meet with parents at other times through the year to discuss the education of a student.
